As an update to you all, your efforts have resulted in over 137K views and 2k+ signatures to date on our petition for care.
While these are incredible numbers, the reality is that there can be a moral dilemma for some in regard to him being found guilty of a felony, especially one that involves gun violence which may create the false association that if you sign the petition for care you are also supporting his actions that led to imprisonment. And for those of us who know Justin we have a similar moral dilemma, having known the man he is and that without his history of brain injuries from his 20 years of football this would not have happened, and how these two diverse positions can intercede.
Grace4Justin is the message we wish to spread to all individuals considering this petition. Chuck Swindoll defines grace as, "Grace is God's favor shown to those of us who don't deserve it, cannot earn it, and will never be able to repay it"
As you share or consider signing this petition, please consider the fact that there is no moral conflict in seeking life-sustaining care for someone despite not agreeing with their actions. In order for restorative justice to prevail, we must give the individual the opportunity to live long enough to make amends. Thank you for reading this update and hope you consider this perspective when deciding whether you will support the cause.
