STAND UP TO HELP ME STOP THE USPS FROM MISTREATING THEIR EMPLOYEES
The Issue
There are more than a million employees who are employed at the United States Postal Services. There are more than a thousand employees who are constantly being harrassed, retaliated against, discriminated against, mistreated, or are not even allowed access to alot of jobs like most employees. There are more than a dozen casuals who are employeed at the USPS for the holiday season. The USPS schedule them to work their entire 12 hour shift on Christmas Day and when the shift is over the casuals are greeted at the time clock by management with termination papers advising them not to come back. PSE employees are being worked like slaves while all of the regulars sit on their butts and walk around like they own the place because they don't have to endure the hard labor like the PSE'S. PSE'S have to do mandatory 12 hour shifts for 6 days a week and if anyone refuse then you will be handed your termination papers. While regulars can pick and choose when they want to work or leave and the PSE's are left to finish up the pieces. Alot of these employees are afraid to speak up due to fear, termination, retaliation, and all of the above from management. I started working for the USPS on Sept. 20, 2015 and I immediately noticed alot of unfairness going on, employees are allowed jobs before others if they know management in some type of way, etc. Most of the woman would make rude remarks to me because management made me pump my breast milk in the ladies locker room. I also had to endure fighting for my seniority when I noticed some employees who were on the bottom of the seniority list (who knew head people in charge) were allowed access to certain things before others which was very unfair. I continued to fight for my rights and I wasn't going to stop until justice was served. The hiring manager was placing people he knew ahead of others and granting them better shifts, etc. When I started snooping around he later took me upstairs to show me some very important information about the seniority list. He knew I wasn't buying his excuses so he told me to just let it go. Later on there was an investigation set in place and later on things were corrected. The hiring manager was reassigned to night shift and was still allowed to have personal access to the computer system. June 27, 2015 I bridged over to a full time regular and fell into another 90 day probationary period. I started having a little trouble regarding my children and my health and I made sure management was aware of my situation. I have provided all documentation to management proving that my statements where in fact true. I was later terminated when I had to go to the emergency room due to my heath (kidneys). My supervisor took a copy of my doctor excuses and then turned around and terminated me stating: my documentation was insufficiant. I retrieved my file from my union reps and started to study my file in order to fight for what was right. I was shocked due to the fact that someone had changed my schedule in the system to a bid job that i've never applied for (this was to set me up for termination). I can prove that I was infact retaliated against, discriminated against, harrassed, and treated very unfairly while employeed at the USPS.They work us like slaves and cut out our time with our children because they think they can. I'm standing up for the USPS employees who are afraid to speak up because of retaliation from our supervisors. We should love our jobs and not having to deal with being mistreated. I am standing up to fight for our rights so our voices will be heard and no more will the USPS treat us like we are doormats or the scum off the bottom of their shoes. Please stand up and help me stop the USPS from mistreating their employees. Stand up and help me fight to stop Fear and help our employees stand up for their rights as well. I'm fighting for all of the silent voices that are bottled up inside and left unheard waiting to be rescued.
