Nothing so "Russian" about Nick and his dad but that was only true until they put up the white plastic privacy fence and used it to help them ram a mobile phone into my face. I had been ambushed. And that's when the microtargeting started, every bit of it "Russia-style" complete with "colleagues" — like Kevin the nearby Radio Lane antenna licensee with that Cell Tower there and the teenager manning the cash register for that Ace Hardware store just off Main Street whose name, he told me, is Drew. Like "Wayne" born Ronald.

Why would "Albert" target me? I have nothing against Russia, I have nothing against the Russian people. No Russian national has ever told me, for example, "I'm tired of looking at your f·ck·ng ass"; no Russian national has ever accused me even of having a "f·ck·ng ass." Who speaks to me like that? The "commander" who is directing operations for the local "top secret [American] intelligence unit" — which goes by the "number [21788]" — speaks to me like that.
