Axolotls are not legal in California and this is a crime to many because they just want to own or breed a cute little axolotl friend, in Texas you can own a tiger or whatever else you may want but in California you can own a cute little amphibian?  This needs to be fixed and I’m sure the axolotl community can help.  Is it too much to ask just to at least be able to get a permit to own axolotls?  Apparently yes because there is no current way to own one of these cute little creatures “they’ll hurt the environment if released” may but what you here from people who disagree, and here’s a rebuttal to that, cats do the same to bird populations if they get the chance, if cats which aren’t native to California are perfectly legal and encouraged by several people who say to get them from shelters then axolotls should at least be legal to own for the purpose of breeding some cute axolotl babies to increase they’re population, in short this is why axolotls should be legal in California and why you should sign this petition.
