Campus Cats Need to Stay

This petition made change with 1,032 supporters!

Our Campus Cats are loved among the community. We have had a long-time colony of cats that Tulane has come together and cared for; these cats are a part of who we are and what we value as members of Tulane.

Tulane has hired a professional animal trapping service to trap and remove the cats from the Uptown campus. The service will take these trapped cats to the Herbert Center in Belle Chase. This location is 45 minutes from campus which is impractical for any of the feeders to go out their regularly to feed the cats.

A major concern is that this environment is not safe; there are coyotes and other threats. The cats will not survive here.

Removing the neutered cats from our campus will result in new unfixed cats to move in. This will result in a population increase. We currently have a controlled environment.

Tulane's plan is cruel and inhumane. Please join us in trying to stop this effort and save our cats. By signing this petition, you are showing how many people care for these cats and want them to remain on Tulane's campus.

You can email to express your complaints about this plan.
