Ban the public use of fireworks, to protect domestic pets and wildlife.
Why this petition matters

Like many families with dogs, Bonfire night is a nightmare come true. My lovely furry friends Teddy and Ethel are frightened beyond belief due to the copious amount of fireworks used in the weeks leading upto Bonfire night. Each year the fireworks get louder and the period of use longer. I believe that the sale of fireworks should be banned to the public, meaning that individuals must have a license in order to purchase them. I also believe that fireworks should only be used at events and not from homes. Not only would this help protect our domestic pets and wildlife, but would also reduce various things such as fires, emergency service call outs, underage use of gunpowder, dangerous use of gunpowder and policing.
I have read so many horror stories due to the dangerous use of fireworks, including fireworks being thrown at pedestrians from moving vehicle's, ‘rockets’ being posted through letter boxes, homeless individuals being targeted with fireworks and animals being strapped to live fireworks in an awful act of animal abuse.
I truly believe that the negatives outweigh the sparkle and bangs.
Please help me by signing this petition and sharing with your friends in the hope we get as many signatures as possible!
Thank you.
