2021 Resolution: keep the good parts of 2020
The Issue
In 2020, we learned valuable lessons in sustainabiltiy that if carried on past the pandemic, we will benefit from in terms of global climate change, equality, and civility, so sign on this resolution:
We, the undersigned, resolve that we will make the following practices that we learned in 2020 permanent in our lives for the betterment of each other & the planet we share:
1. to live simply, reject consumerism (appreciate the local variety of food & craft especially) & value the gift of our relationships with each other & the natural world over material gifts
2. to lift marginalized voices by sharing the platform we already stand on & honoring traditions and histories not our own
3. to walk more, wander more, hear the birds better, be more present
4. to be a global citizen who stands up to be counted in today’s civil political discourse: social, racial & environmental justice
5. to slow down & prioritize our time, drive less, fly less, stay put more
6. to respect the power of words, pay attention to language & honesty & its impact
7. to share these practices with those we come in contact with; to value contact
