I always hear that the NHS is flooded and can't cope, yet in the year 2020 we unfortunately still live in a world where nurses and midwives have to pay a yearly fee to practice ... yes that's right THEY have to pay. What an insult. 

In an industry which asks a lot of its employees, including long and at times unsociable working hours away from family, for what is in my opinion a wage which severely devalues the hard work these individuals undertake when they are saving lives/bringing news lives into the world. 

These fantastic people deserve a lot more, especially given the risk they put themselves at with the Covid 19 pandemic (being just one example of many). 

Surely the very least we can do is to have these yearly fees abolished. Let's incentivise people to become healthcare professionals!
