Everett Public Schools: Electronics Gone From Shackles

The Issue

The Student Body of Everett Public Schools has been oppressed by the technology policies established across their numerous campuses.

These policies have negatively plagued The Student Body in multiple ways. So I started this campaign to change that.

Even outside of more entertainment-based electronics. We have failed to be given the necessary uses, even when it comes to cases of Safety.

The Technology policies state that phones have to be turned off completely during school hours. Am I the only one who sees an issue with that? even if cases of Emergency are rare. There is still more possibility of survival if members of the Student body can communicate and coordinate with Family during desperate times.

Even our own school-given Chromebooks are restricted more than they should be. What if some people have a lot of events going on in their schedule and they have a lot of work to do? How much sleep is necessary to be butchered away by school work when they could alternatively at least spend a portion of there times getting the work they have done needed during school hours.

When it comes to the more personalized electronics, like a Nintendo Switch or PlayStation Portal. Giving the Student Body a designated time when they can use their technology during the Long School hours reduces the risk of people bringing them anyway and using them at times they really shouldn't. Even if only during the 30-minute lunch, that brief free time will get all urges out.

Especially considering how Big technology products have gotten compared to the times of the Game Boy and Game Gear, it is much more difficult to sneak things in outside of phones than it was back then. So to still keep these policies considering when some of these handhelds, like the PlayStation Portal,  are On Par with Chromebooks in the size department. It is unnecessary when these policies are still in effect.

Even during a test, Chromebooks were restricted. Why? Was it really about people playing games, or was it just for control? Upon giving the People more freedoms, it reduces the chance of the Student Body rebelling and the need for these Petitions of the Students just wanting some Basic Freedoms. The more Crackdowns are inflicted, the more revolts will happen, and that is how you cause a revolution. Time and time again, that's been shown.

The fact that the Bus Drivers have to use the Kindness of their hearts to let us use our own devices, even though we are technically off campus, is Absurd and says everything about the situation. Even if they're stricter drivers, it allows the students to have more fun.

In summary, all of these cases will allow the Student body to be more friendly and less chance of rebelling against The Rules.
