British Eventing have added a clause 7.16 that bib "numbers are to be worn at the discretion of the organiser, and competitors may not be allowed to compete unless these directions are complied with".

In a sport where the majority of the participants are grassroots, adding mundane sanctions is an unnecessary burden. 

Since covid hit, a few enterprising individuals (BibEaz, BibNets etc.) have found a solution by using reusable bib numbers that can last a lifetime and help reduce your environmental impact (yes its small but its the mindset & behaviour that's important).

British Eventing need to get real, move with the times and engage this evolution in their sport. They should be working with these suppliers to support their sponsors and help them find new ones. Not close the door and cause unnecessary stress to those participating within a sport they love. 

Participants should be able to use any number and not be burdened with having to print.

If organisers want sponsors logos to be present on bibs then stickers (clear self adhesive vinyl) should be applied onto the front and back above participants numbers.
