Problem
Newcastle has just been told of a plan to close our beloved Tower Cinemas. Both staff and locals were only notified days ago, less that one month before the planned close date, the 5th of December

Solution
Some locals have suggested a company called Dendy may be able to take over and continue the great service the Tower Cinemas provide to our community. We welcome this discussion as a last resort. Bottom line must be, don't close our cinema.

Personal story
This is the last remaining cinema in our CBD which is home to a wide range of community film festivals such as the Italian, French and Japanese film festivals. The Tower Cinemas have also provided a place for local creatives to launch their films and for LGBTIQ locals to celebrate and see themselves represented in film. The Tower Cinemas make the CBD liveable.
