On March 14, 2023, my mom was in front of our house with our dog, Rudy, when an aggressive large dog from down the block overpowered its owner, breaking free, and charged over 50 yards at my mom and dog, entirely unprovoked. 

The dog proceeded to maul my mom from the sidewalk into the middle of road, leaving her with several deep bite wounds on both hands, and blunt force trauma to her knee and head against the concrete due to the violent force of the large dog. My mom needed immediate medical treatment. When the dog had finished attacking my mom, it went after my dog, Rudy, and killed him.  My mom and dog were attacked directly in front of our house. 

The attacking dog has a notorious aggressive reputation in our neighborhood, as other local dog walkers have reached out, expressing that they have been fearful of this dog, and strongly support to have this dog humanely euthanized for the safety of other adults, children, and animals in our neighborhood.

The owners of this dog, who live across the street from an elementary school, have dismissed taking appropriate action to remove their dog from our community, despite the horrific assault it carried out, and its past erratic behavior.
