Dear readers,

on July 15, the EU top court ruled hijab can be banned at work. On behalf of hijab-wearing employed women, we started this petition to unite our voices against hijab ban across Europe.

Hijab is not only a religious symbol but strongly associated with cultural and habitual beliefs and norms of a woman; and deviating from that is a violation of women's rights. Hijab is the way many women choose to represent themselves in society and prohibiting it, is an unacceptable type of discrimination and a huge infringement of freedom under the law.

Acceptance, tolerance and celebration of individual differences are the key to a more democratic European society. We want to appeal to you to join us against this ban und support us to amplify our voices for justice.
