Voting Rights for Residents in EU Countries

Suffrage ? What is it and who has it ?
Democracy is people's desire for dignity.
Suffrage has moved from being a class issue, to a gender issue, and now has become a nationality issue. We believe ALL RESIDENTS should have the right to vote.
As point 15 from the CC Human Rights and Election Standards 2017 states :
" 15. The universality of human rights, a cornerstone of international human rights law, means that human rights are inherent to all human beings everywhere. These rights are interrelated, interdependent, and indivisible. Further, the rights of equality and nondiscrimination require that all individuals must be treated equally and that no one should suffer discrimination on the basis of race, colour, ethnicity, gender, age, language, sexual orientation or gender identity, religion, political or other opinion, national, social or geographical origin, disability, property, birth or other status".
We are campaigning for the inclusion of ALL RESIDENTS in all National and European Elections regardless of Nationality and place of birth.
Nationality and Citizenship in their current forms are based on outdated ideas of blood and inherited rights. We live in an interconnected global world where people travel (pre-pandemic) around the world for work and leisure allowing us to grow and become a more tolerant society.
However, people are losing one of their fundamental human rights - that of being able to participate in elections where they live.
We are petitioning the EU to discuss and debate this matter, and call upon the Spanish Government to lead the way in future elections.
We are a group of long term residents in Spain (from the Czech Republic, France, The UK, and Italy) who work and pay taxes in Spain. We have friends, started families and have chosen Spain as the place to make our home, which is our right. And yet, we cannot vote.
It is unacceptable in a modern democratic Europe that this problem is going on unchallenged. This must stop.
We propose a change to that of the Denmark scheme where residents who have lived there for 4 years have the right to vote in ALL elections.
All residents have a human right to vote in their name in all elections.
