Save the hundred yr old ironbark tree, home to many species before it's too late!
The issue
We believe that cutting down a centenarian , perfectly healthy iron bark tree, in 21 Michener court, Long Beach, NSW, is unnecessary.
We demand and believe that Eurobodalla Council and or the Park Rangers need to save the tree by buying back the land, this would also benefit the wildlife as it would act as a corridor back to Cullendulla nature reserve.
The land that the tree is situated on should have never been sold to the public in the first place (this was subdivided over fifteen years ago and poorly so) and should have been left as a corridor for the numerous wildlife that lives in the reserve.
Much of Michener Court is a nature reserve, the tree is an invaluable part of Long Beach's heritage and cannot be allowed to be destroyed.
Loss of this tree would represent a significant loss of a valuable home to many species of birds, sugar gliders and insects. Not to mention the emotional well being of Michener Court's residents.
This very old tree, home to many, cannot be replaced and felling it would have a negative impact on the environment.
