The Eugene Pride Organization published a series of "rules" for the 2021 Pride march and Pride in the Park event that explicitly ban "political messages", signs, or "gear" clarifying that the meant Kink-wear of any kind. 

This is something we've seen all across America, and have discussed as a community at length. Kink is part of pride. There are dozens of prominent articles published with literally any reputable source speaking on why Kink cannot and should not be excluded from Pride marches, or Pride events. 

Pride is NOT about making Straight Cis people and heteronormative Queer people comfortable. The idea that Kink-wear is intrinsically inappropriate for children is shame based culture, the very same shame culture that had members of our community being arrested for "sex crimes" in the past. 

We are NOT inappropriate! Pup play isn't indecent, nor inherently sexual. Leather play isn't inappropriate, and assless chaps aren't going to traumatize your child. If a parent decides to instill their shame into their children, that's on them. Pride is about shedding Shame, and rising it. 

The Eugene Pride Organization committee members who participated in the creation of these "rules" should step down immediately, so people who actually represent this community can do the job we need them to do; to facilitate the smooth organization of OUR Pride march.
