The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world beyond recognition and put a lot of lives at risk. We will be able to stop the spread of the virus only if all of us are more careful in respecting established norms and rules, such as proper use of personal protection equipment, the strict respect of the requisite distance and vaccination. Unfortunately, not everyone recognizes the importance of these obvious things.
Mass protests against COVID passports, vaccination and restrictions placed by the authorities on observation of infection control regulations are taking place throughout Europe. Hundreds of thousands of people are consciously spreading the virus, and each of them can infect up to a thousand people! They are reversing hard-won gains of health professionals of the world. And the age of such irresponsibility must be ended!
We, the EU citizens, are concerned at these dangerous trends in our society and propose the following way of fighting against those people, who do not adequately assess the risks of COVID spreading. It is necessary to establish a public database of those persons, who destabilize our society and foster the spread of the virus. Such a service is successfully functioning in Latvia (https://www.covidgudrie.com/). It contains legally collected information (under GDPR) about people, who are guilty of the overly broad COVID transmission, and there is convincing evidence of their guilt. Establishment of such an instrument at a pan-European level makes it easier to respond much faster to the threats posed by irresponsible individuals.
