Ban the sale of "satanic rosaries" on Etsy
The Issue
Dear Friends, thank you from the bottom of my heart if you have opened this email.
Recently, the online marketplace Etsy.com banned the sale of consecrated hosts for use in black masses and satanic rituals as reported by Catholic News Agency and a number of other media outlets: https://bit.ly/2VGlYsV
On May 13, a Change.org petition like this, was started, calling on Etsy to clarify that the sale of consecrated hosts is a violation of the platform’s policies.
“Catholics believe that Consecrated Hosts are truly the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. It is the most precious thing in our religion,” the petition said.
A few days later, the listing for the consecrated hosts was marked as “Sold Out.” It was subsequently deleted and added to Etsy's website as a prohibited item for sale in violation of its policy banning items that “support or glorify hatred toward people or otherwise demean people based upon: race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation.”
It recently came to my attention when researching this matter that among other satanic items for sale in Etsy shops are "satanic rosaries." You may observe for yourself if you so choose by clicking here: https://etsy.me/2K9y9wT .
These items are sold under this product name and in the place of a true Rosary crucifix are medallions with the symbol of various demons.
Rosary is defined by the Webster Dictionary as follows:
Definition of rosary
1 often capitalized : a Roman Catholic devotion consisting of meditation on usually five sacred mysteries during recitation of five decades of Hail Marys of which each begins with an Our Father and ends with a Gloria Patri
2 : a string of beads used in counting prayers especially of the Roman Catholic rosary
I am beginning this petition in hopes that you will sign and support the removal of satanic rosaries (at least by this name as it is not a Rosary), from all Etsy.com shops AND that it be added by that description, "satanic rosary", to the list of prohibited sale items, along with consecrated hosts.
By virtue of the fact that the Rosary is defined as a Catholic devotion, and that Catholics know the Rosary was given directly from Heaven by Our Lady and Blessed Mother to St. Dominic, the listings of satanic rosaries are not only an inaccurate product description since no such thing as a satanic rosary could even ever exist given its origin, but the sale of such products are also promoting and inciting hate against Catholicism and would be subject to the same violation as the selling of Consecrated hosts per the website's rules banning items that "support or glorify hatred toward people or otherwise demean people based upon: race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation.”
The Rosary is one of Catholicism's most treasured devotions in that it directly glorifies Jesus Christ and his life among us including his passion, through our Blessed Mother and the Mother of the Church. It comes directly to us from Heaven. To have the Rosary degraded by satanists is an action we cannot stand for as Catholics. Etsy has very recently shown it is receptivity to protecting the rights of Catholics to not be victims of hatred in its online marketplace. Please sign this petition for the removal of satanic rosaries that are a degradation of our Blessed Mother, and our faith, from Etsy.com in satanic shops.
Thank you and God Bless.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, that prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
