NY Legislation has been dropped! And San Francisco updates!

First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support in fighting legislation to ban electronic collars. We are floored to have received nearly 16,000 signatures and so many testimonials in comments explaining the reasons and ways electronic collars have helped improve your dogs quality of life through safe management. 

With that, we would like to share some good news! New York Assembly Bill 10700 which would ban the sale and distribution of electronic collars “died in assembly”. You can read more about this by clicking here. 

Our primary focus right now is to continue to fight proposed legislation to criminalize electronic collars in San Francisco. While the trainers pushing for this ban have claimed they are up against multi million dollar companies and monied lobbyists…the reality is this petition was written by a passionate group of San Francisco dog trainers who are dedicated to advocating for the many dogs whose lives have been positively impacted by this training tool.

In the last few months we have rallied the support of thousands of dog trainers, rescue organizations, working k9 and service dog handlers, San Francisco residents, dog related businesses, training schools and organizations,  veterinary professionals,  passionate dog owners, and the International Association of Canine Professionals. We need to continue to write in to San Francisco Board of Supervisors as well as virtually attend SF Commission of Animal Control & Welfare meetings to have our voices heard.

This upcoming Monday, February 6th, at 6pm pacific time, world renowned Bay Area dog trainer and educator Michael Ellis will be representing us in an NPR affiliate show KALW “State of The Bay” alongside the trainer behind SF Shock Free who proposed legislation to ban E Collars in San Francisco.
