Establishment of a No-Kill Animal Shelter in Banks County, GA

The Issue

I am a resident of Banks County, Georgia and I have witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking reality of our local animal shelters. They are overflowing with stray cats and dogs, victims of neglect and abandonment due to the irresponsibility of individuals who lack commitment towards these pets. All local shelters, humane societies, rescues, and fosters are at capacity. This is not just an issue for me; it's a crisis affecting our entire community.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) estimates that approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year in the United States (ASPCA). This number could be significantly reduced if more no-kill shelters were available.

Banks County needs a no-kill animal shelter or humane society now more than ever due to the increasing number of stray cats & dogs as well as rising incidents of animals being abandoned. The establishment of such facilities would provide these innocent creatures with a safe haven where they can be cared for until they find their forever homes. Additional benefits could include new employment opportunities for those with a passion for animals much closer to home!

We call upon our local government officials to take immediate action on this pressing issue. By signing this petition, you're advocating for the lives of countless animals in need within our community and pushing for change that will positively impact Banks County now and into the future.
