Living in Rye Crossing has been a source of pride and comfort for many of us, but recent events have cast a worrying shadow over our community. Non-residents and trespassers have repeatedly damaged community property and gained unauthorized access to our neighborhood, threatening the safety and peace we value so highly. As a resident, I want to ensure that every member of our community feels protected and secure in their own homes. This is why I am proposing the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and the Rye Crossing Homeowners Association.

An MOU would provide a formal framework for cooperation and coordination between our local law enforcement and our community, ensuring a more robust security protocol. It would establish guidelines for ongoing dialogue and collaboration, enabling us to leverage the expertise and resources of the Sheriff's Office while promoting transparency and accountability on both sides.

The benefits of such an agreement are manifold. Firstly, it would facilitate quicker responses to incidents of trespassing and vandalism, with law enforcement being more attuned to our specific needs and challenges. Secondly, regular communication channels would be set up, making it easier for residents to report suspicious activities and for the authorities to provide timely updates.
