Establish International OCD Awareness Day

Establish International OCD Awareness Day
The Issue
I am one of the millions worldwide who live with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This condition, often misunderstood and stigmatized, affects approximately 1 in 40 adults and 1 in 100 children in the United States alone (source: International OCD Foundation). It is not just about being overly neat or organized; it is a serious mental health disorder that can cause severe distress and impair daily life.
Despite its prevalence, there is still a lack of awareness and understanding about OCD. Many people with this condition suffer in silence due to fear of judgment or misunderstanding. We need an International OCD Awareness Day to shed light on this issue, educate the public about what OCD truly entails, and show support for those affected by it.
By establishing an International OCD Awareness Day, we can help reduce stigma, improve access to treatment, and remind those living with this disorder that they are not alone. Please sign this petition to advocate for increased recognition and understanding of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
