My name is Claudia and I need this initiative for both a personal reason and because I believe it would be beneficial for residents of my area and the tourism activity of the South of Italy.

The current lack of direct flights between Bournemouth, UK, and the Amalfi Coast (Salerno) is not just a personal pain but also a hindrance to boosting tourism in both regions. Direct flights would facilitate smooth travel for countless others, promoting connections and tourism.

Bournemouth is a rapidly growing area, with its airport serving over 800,000 passengers in 2018, showing potential for more flight routes (source: Bournemouth Airport).

Likewise, the area nearby Salerno, with its rich cultural history and picturesque landscapes and coastline, is a hidden gem that more UK tourists should have the opportunity to discover in a hassle-free manner.

Salerno is the perfect connection for the beautiful beaches of the Amalfi coast and beyond. Creating this direct connection will enable thousands of people to easily reach the amazing towns of Amalfi, Sorrento, Ravello and many others within a few minutes from the airport.

Salerno airport is also perfect to easily reach the amazing Isles of Ischia and Capri. And for those wanting to be inspired by history, Salerno is within a short distance to easily reach Pomepi and Peastum too.

Easy travel links are essential for promoting cultural exchange, economic growth and bringing together families like mine across borders.
