The Issue

Every day, I find myself walking two miles just to catch a bus – a simple necessity that has turned into a frequent challenge. This has become a significant inconvenience, not just for me, but for others who also reside in the corridor along Prince William County Parkway. We lack the accessible public transport system we deserve right here in Prince William County.

Public transportation should be a convenient, affordable, and safe alternative to driving, and in some areas like Manassas proper, it is. However, for us residents along the Prince William County Parkway, the nearest bus stops are miles away, making it difficult for individuals and families to access work, school, healthcare, and other essential services without the use of a car. This is not only a transport issue but also a question of equality, where all parts of the county should have equal transport opportunities.

Adding bus stops at the intersections of Moore Drive, Yates Ford Road, Hoadly Road, and Miniville Road would radically transform daily commutes. It would reduce the necessity for long, often unsafe walks and cut down on traffic congestion as more people would opt for public transport.

Whether it gets its own bus route, extends the 67, or the 96 gains a few stops, this modification would help ensure that all residents of Prince William County can effectively get around without the use of a car.

Help us make our commutes shorter, easier, and greener. Join me in asking Prince William County officials to install bus stops at the intersections of Moore Drive, Yates Ford Road, Hoadly Road, and Miniville Road. Today, we can advocate for change and improve the daily lives of many residents across our county. Please sign this petition in support of better public transportation options for all.
