I am a resident of Hartsville, SC, and I have witnessed firsthand the numerous animals and pets in our community that could greatly benefit from the resources provided by an active ASPCA branch. Our county, like many others in South Carolina, is home to countless animals that need protection, care, and a safe environment.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has been instrumental in providing these services across various states. However, its absence in our county has left a void that needs to be filled urgently. The establishment of an ASPCA branch here would not only provide immediate aid to animals but also promote responsible pet ownership through education and resources.

According to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S animal shelters nationwide every year. This staggering number highlights the urgent need for more organizations like ASPCA across all counties.

Our ultimate goal is not just for Darlington County but for all counties throughout South Carolina. Every animal deserves care and protection; no county should be left out.
