I was a Dance Major at Talent Unlimited High School and Shakeem Davis was my peer. We became friends almost instantly, sharing an incredible bond through our mutual love for dance. Shakeem had an impact on everyone around him, emanating kindness, a rare sense of humor, and an exceptional talent that made him a joy to be around every day. Tragically, Shakeem's life was unjustly taken from him in December of last year, leaving all of us in great sorrow.

Thus, I propose the establishment of the "Shakeem Davis Award". This annual award will serve as a living memory of our peer Shakeem, honoring his legacy within the Dance Department of our high school. At the end of each year, it would be granted to a standout student, emulating Shakeem's unyielding passion for dance and his remarkable character traits.

Support from the Alumni and Faculty members of Talent Unlimited High School is paramount to make this tribute to Shakeem a reality. Signing this petition would bring us one step closer to preserving his memory and acknowledging the positive impact he had on our community.
