Even as an adult, recreation is important.  Organized recreation leagues help build and maintain adult friendships, set an example for children, build community, and promote healty lifestyles.  Additionally, a recreation league with a central location helps drive local business as well.

While we appreciate the offering of an adult softball league in Metuchen, we desire the opportunity to play classic baseball (hardball) as well.  We are proposing establishing an adult baseball league sponsored by Metuchen's recreation department.

We envision the league starting as a 4-team league, with each team playing once per week (so 2 games per week total across the league).  Games would be played in the evenings and Myrtle-Charles Park on the Myrtle Field baseball diamond.  Games would begin at 7:15pm and have a 2hr 30min time limit to complete the scheduled 7 innings.
