Establish a State and National Database for Animal Abusers

Establish a State and National Database for Animal Abusers
The Issue
As a dog owner for 17 years, I am haunted and heartbroken by the numerous stories of animal cruelty and neglect that circulate throughout social media. Animals are subjected to some of the worst forms of abuse, and then discarded as if they were mere garbage. These heartbreaking stories often end with the phrase "they were abused/dumped", but alarmingly, seldom do we hear about the abusers facing any kind of consequences. There is a terrifying void in our system that allows individuals to recklessly abuse and torture animals without any significant repercussions.
This petition, therefore, calls for the establishment of a state-level and eventually national database of individuals infamous for animal abuse. The list would contain the names of those who have wronged innocent creatures through neglect, abuse, abandonment, and torture. By making such a database available, we aim to establish a mechanism where shelters, breeders, and pet stores can consult and prevent these violators from purchasing or adopting more animals to victimize.
I fully understand the discussions and concerns about the right to privacy, but should privacy protections extend to those who inflict harm on innocent, voiceless animals? The outcry for 'protecting the privacy of abusers' should never overrule the cries of animals in agony. Privacy cannot, and should not, serve as a cloak that shields the abusers from exposure and accountability.
With your support, we can build a safeguard that protects our animals from individuals who derive satisfaction from their suffering. It's high time we prioritize animal rights, and ensure that their safety is not compromised under the guise of privacy protection.
Please sign this petition to help us create a comprehensive database, and take one firm step closer towards ending animal cruelty.
