I am a therian, a subset of alter-humanity, meaning that I identify, in part, with the experiences and nature of an animal. Because of this, I have faced bullying and discrimination regularly. I am sharing my personal experience to underscore the urgent need for a dedicated school for us "alter-humans."

This school would not just cater to academic requirements but also celebrate alter-humanity. Normal classes found in traditional schools would be provided, but additionally, targetted courses such as quad classes (four-legged locomotion), vocal classes to help us express ourselves in ways we identify with, art classes, and more would be provided. To add to this, dormitories would ensure that every student stays with like-minded peers, further pushing the acceptance and understanding of their identities.

While only about 5% of people identify as alter-human, the proportion is rapidly increasing among teens and young adults, showing a higher incidence than recorded (Source: Dissertation, Curtis Bryant, 2018). Imagine the difference a dedicated school would make by allowing a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for these young individuals.

Therefore, we petition for the creation of a school up to the 12th grade specifically designed for alter-humans. This is not just a matter of education, but also of acceptance, respect, and equality. Please, sign this petition in support of creating an inclusive world for all.
