As a concern citizen, I have personally witnessed the heartbreaking reality of animals being euthanized, abused, neglected, and abandoned because they have nowhere to go. This is not just an animal welfare issue; it's a community issue that affects us all. 

In our county alone, hundreds of animals are left without homes each year. Without a safe place to surrender or house these animals, many end up on the streets or worse - euthanized due to lack of resources (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

It's time we take action and provide these innocent creatures with the safety they deserve. We call upon Tooele County officials to establish a dedicated facility where residents can safely surrender their pets and where abandoned animals can be taken care of until they find new homes.
