Every day, fellow roller skating enthusiasts like me and those in our community have to make the inconvenient trek to Fort Walton Beach (FWB) to indulge in our shared passion for roller skating. The lack of a local rink in Destin means we spend extra time, money, and energy on travel that could otherwise be spent enjoying more skate time in our own town.

According to the Roller Skating Association International, roller skating is considered as a fun activity and form of exercise by over 52.2 million Americans. Having a roller skating rink in Destin could benefit not only the locals but potentially attract tourists looking for recreational activities during their stay.

In addition, a local roller skating rink in Destin would provide a safe environment for skaters of all ages to have fun and stay active year-round without the need to travel far.
