I am a firm believer in the power of education, particularly the Montessori method. This educational approach has been around for more than 100 years and has proven its effectiveness time and again. It is personal to me because it fosters independent learning, creativity, and critical thinking - skills that are essential for our children's future.

In Oklahoma City, we have an opportunity to make this innovative form of education accessible to all by establishing a public Montessori charter school. Currently, there are over 5,000 Montessori schools in the United States (American Montessori Society), but none within our public system here in Oklahoma City.

By opening a public charter school that utilizes the Montessori method, we can provide an alternative choice for parents seeking different educational options for their children. It would also allow more children to benefit from this holistic approach to learning which emphasizes hands-on, self-paced, collaborative exploration.

Let's bring this century-old yet forward-thinking model of education to our city. Let us give our children the best chance at success by providing them with diverse educational opportunities right here at home.
