As a parent of two children in Franklinton, NC, I am deeply concerned about the lack of accessible sports facilities for our kids. My 13-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter love playing basketball but are unable to do so due to the high cost of reserving local gyms - $50 per hour. In a community where the cost of living is already high, this price is simply unaffordable for many families.

Our children deserve better. They deserve a safe and welcoming space where they can engage in positive activities like sports without being burdened by financial constraints. It's time we invest in their future by establishing a public community center equipped with facilities such as a basketball court and weight lifting equipment.
