I am a resident of Woodbury, TN and like many of you, I love my animals deeply. However, our beloved Cannon County is facing an alarming concern - the lack of adequate animal rescue and shelter facilities. This issue is not just close to my heart but also impacts the welfare of our community's furry friends.

Every year in the United States, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Unfortunately, due to limited resources and space constraints, many shelters are forced to euthanize healthy animals. In fact, nearly 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year (Humane Society).

This heartbreaking situation can be mitigated if we take action now by establishing a non-profit animal rescue and shelter here in Woodbury. Such an initiative will provide abandoned or stray pets with safe refuge while they await their forever homes.

Our community has always shown immense compassion towards its members - both human and animal alike. Now it's time we extend this compassion further by creating a safe haven for our four-legged friends who need it most.

Let us come together as proud residents of Cannon County to advocate for this much-needed facility that will ensure better lives for countless innocent creatures while enriching our own community life.
