I am a resident of Avondale, AZ and the proud guardian of eight beautiful animals - all strays that I found wandering our streets. Each day, I see more lost pets running around the valley, and it breaks my heart knowing that if they are picked up, they will likely end up in an overcrowded shelter 30 miles away from their potential families.

Our community needs a solution closer to home. We need an animal shelter right here in Avondale - one that is committed to being no-kill. Our tax dollars should be invested into creating this safe haven for stray animals where they can be cared for until their families are found or new homes are secured for them.

Across the United States, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year (ASPCA). A significant number of these animals never find their way back home or get adopted into new homes due to limited resources and overcrowded facilities.

By establishing a no-kill animal shelter in Avondale, we can provide these vulnerable creatures with a better chance at life while also offering peace of mind to local pet owners who have lost their beloved companions.
