For years, a pair of Osprey has brought joy to many birdwatchers and animal lovers in Nashua, NH. Their majestic flights and nurturing behaviors have been a source of fascination and inspiration. Recently, however, their nests/nesting sites have been removed. This not only disrupts their natural habitat but also deprives future generations - both avian and human - of the opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural setting.

Ospreys are an integral part of our ecosystem. According to the National Audubon Society, they help control populations of rodents and other small animals by preying on them. They also serve as indicators for environmental health as they are sensitive to certain pollutants.

The removal of their nesting sites at Webster Square Mall is not just an issue for the birds themselves but also for our community that values wildlife diversity. We propose establishing a nesting platform specifically designed for Ospreys at Webster Square Mall or nearby suitable locations.

By doing so, we can provide these birds with a safe space that will ensure their survival while continuing to allow residents and visitors alike the chance to appreciate them from afar.
