I'm a lifelong learner, consistently immersed in the incredible narratives women who've shaped the world and made history. While acknowledging the importance of women's history, I nevertheless wondered, where were the stories of equally remarkable men? Both men and women have significantly contributed to society's development and it is only just that we celebrate and learn about each group's accomplishments equally. Consequently, I am calling for the establishment of a Men's History Month.

Our education system has implemented women's history month to elevate women's contributions globally and encourage young girls. Similarly, having a Men's History Month could inspire young boys and men, reaffirming that they too have the capability to change the world.

A report by the National Education Association affirms that studying representative history encourages positive identity development in children. With this in mind, it only strengthens our case for a Men's History Month.

Honoring and learning from humanity's achievements should never be gender-exclusive. With the creation of Men's History Month, we aim to ensure that boys and men are seen, celebrated, and learn about their influential male predecessors.
