My journey as a therian in the current educational system has been tough. Whenever I express myself by doing quads, I am often met with less than supportive reactions. This bullying overshadows my potential and the identity that I wholeheartedly embrace. I believe it is our shared responsibility to ensure that no child goes through what I endure daily. Hence, this petition is not just my story, but the narrative of all students who face similar barriers.

Our community needs an all-inclusive K-12 school. This institution would create an environment where everyone, regardless of their unique qualities, would feel welcome. It would not only provide quality education but would also uphold equality and create a haven for any individual who feels left out in the current educational system.

The National Bullying Prevention Center suggests that 1 in 5 students report being bullied. The consequences of this are far-reaching, and may result in academic decline, sleep difficulty, and depression. By creating a school which welcomes diversity, we would be reducing the 20% bully rate our children currently face.

Education should not be a battle. It should be a haven of diversity and acceptance. If people like me, proud therians, and anyone else who feels marginalized, misunderstood, or bullied in our current school system had a safe, inclusive environment to learn in, imagine the kind of world we could create.
