I am a resident of Bracknell, deeply concerned about the impact of fireworks on our local wildlife and environment. Fireworks, while beautiful and celebratory, have unintended consequences that are often overlooked. They not only cause air pollution but also create noise pollution which can be extremely distressing to animals.

According to the RSPCA, 45% of dogs in the UK show signs of fear when they hear fireworks. This is not limited to domestic pets; wild animals also suffer from this disturbance. Birds have been known to abandon their nests and young ones due to loud noises (source: RSPCA).

Moreover, debris from firework displays can litter our landscapes and waterways causing harm to both terrestrial and aquatic life forms (source: Environmental Protection Agency).

This is why I am calling for Bracknell to become a firework-free zone. By doing so we will be taking a stand against environmental damage while also protecting our precious wildlife from unnecessary distress.
