Establish a Domestic Abuse/Violence Registry

The Issue

I am a survivor of domestic abuse. This is not just my story, but the story of millions around the world who have suffered in silence, their pain often unnoticed and unaddressed. It's time to change that.

In the United States alone, an average of 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner. That's more than 10 million women and men each year (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence). This statistic is staggering and unacceptable.

A domestic abuse/violence registry would serve as a critical tool for prevention and protection. Similar to sex offender registries, it would provide crucial information about individuals convicted of domestic violence offenses. This transparency could potentially save lives by providing potential victims with vital information about someone's past.

We believe that knowledge is power - power that can protect potential victims from becoming statistics themselves. By establishing this registry, we can offer survivors hope for justice and safety while deterring future acts of violence.

It's time to take action against domestic violence - for me, for you, for all those who have suffered in silence too long. Please sign this petition today to establish a Domestic Abuse/Violence Registry.
