The Issue

We are calling on park council  and community leaders in Hillsboro, OR, USA to establish a disability accessible park in honor of an extraordinary individual - joy Lovato. She was a beacon of hope and kindness who dedicated her life to helping those less fortunate. Her tireless efforts supported countless individuals facing domestic violence, homelessness, children in need, people with disabilities despite her own disability and her job at community action. Her life and legacy will continue on after her passing forever at this park.

Creating this park will not only serve as a tribute to her selfless spirit but also address the pressing need for more disability-friendly recreational spaces. According to the U.S Census Bureau's American Community Survey (2019), approximately 12% of Hillsboro's population lives with some form of disability. This park would provide an inclusive space where everyone can enjoy outdoor activities.

By signing this petition, you are supporting an initiative that promotes inclusivity while honoring the memory of Joy Lovato  - a woman who embodied compassion and generosity throughout her life. Please sign this petition today!
