Emerging Science and Scientists in Muscle Biology- Mon through Thurs, Sept 14-17, 12:00-1:30 (EDT)

Dear Muscle Biology Community,
I am thrilled to announce our first-ever Muscle Biology Subgroup Science Event during the Emerging Science Week of the Biophysical Society. The event, "Emerging Science and Scientists in Muscle Biology", is a four-day data blitz to highlight Emerging Science and Scientists in Muscle Biology.
Sessions will be 1.5 hours on M-T-W-Th, Sept 14-17, 2026, from 12:00-1:30 PM (EDT) and each 1.5-hour session will feature 5 short talks from investigators (see Speakers below) working at the leading edge of their fields, covering new approaches, surprising findings, and open questions in muscle structure, function, and disease. Whether your focus is skeletal, cardiac, or smooth muscle, or you approach muscle biology from a biophysical, molecular, cellular, or physiological angle, these sessions will spotlight the next wave of discoveries and the researchers behind them!
To register for the event (all 4 days) use the following link:
Each registrant will then receive a personalized link through their email account that will allow access to all 4 days of the meeting. Note, if you do not already have one, you will need to create and login to a myBPS account (https://www.biophysics.org/ to register. Creating a myBPS account does NOT require BPS membership and all Subgroup Emerging Science events are free to everyone!
We hope to see you at this exciting event!
