Establish a County-Wide Sports & Entertainment Complex in Colerain Township

Establish a County-Wide Sports & Entertainment Complex in Colerain Township
The Issue
As a life-long resident of Colerain, my fellow residents and I have witnessed the ebb and flow of our township as it searches for a new identity to carry us well into the 21st Century that embraces our diversity, our capabilities, and our proven history of excellence in the health, fitness, and athletic arenas.
We have a unique history of athletic prowess - in every sport - that runs deep in our veins. Geographically, demographically, and economically Colerain is perfectly positioned to host the mecca of athletic experience and excellence on behalf of Hamilton County.
Colerain has always been the heart of sporting activities in the tri-state, producing professional athletes and inspirational leaders for a century. For that reason, the vision of regional and national competitions is woven into the fabric of Colerain with a host of overflow facilities within blocks of the proposed athletic complex - Northgate Mall. Between our school district, our parks, and private operations, we have ample support facilities to accommodate major events beyond the walls of any sports plex: 2 high school football stadiums, 16+ basketball/volleyball courts, 15+ baseball fields, 7 indoor soccer/flag football arenas, as well as, pickle ball, tennis, track, and other sporting amenities that make Colerain ideal for events. Colerain has the space, safety and security support services, and sporting accommodations necessary to leverage the impact of a county-wide athletic facility superior to any other jurisdiction in the county.
With an estimated population nearing 60,000 and as one of the most integrated communities in the county (encompassing nearly 20% of the population of the county and the single most populace jurisdiction in the county outside, yet, contingent with the City of Cincinnati), with over 40K square miles of mixed-use property from rural to urban districts, and a rising retail/commercial district, we have an ample pool of opportunity to make a county-wide impact along with the talent, investors, businesses, mentors, experts, and teachers hailing from all over Hamilton County, ready to nurture and showcase the county mission on this proposed platform.
Our local economy is ripe to benefit from such an establishment; sports facilities often act as significant economic catalysts by attracting tourism and creating jobs. Just like professional sports facilities, youth facilities are a revenue generator that deserves county, township, and private investment.
We are not just asking for Hamilton County to support a sports complex to serve youth; we are calling for a beacon to shine light on our collective needs, talents, and resources, while fostering unity among us all.
It is OUR time; it is OUR calling; it is OUR commitment to best serve all residents in Hamilton County through this project!
Join us in petitioning for the establishment of a county-wide sports plex right here in Colerain Township with its home base being at the Northgate Mall property!
