It's disgraceful how many pets are put to sleep daily in this poorly organized and poorly funded county contracted shelter. Phones are automated, no person to speak to, dogs get put to sleep while someone has been waiting for a callback! A county-controlled shelter will have more funding and be community-oriented. The shelter should never turn away a pet and possibly look into drop-off dump cages during  after hours.

Clark County needs better education for its citizens regarding dumping animals and better protections for pets, as well as more time to find your pet if it goes missing. More animal control officers are needed as well.

Abolish the current animal foundation which is poorly run, poorly staffed, poorly funded, and kills far too many animals every year.
