As a resident of Plattsburgh, my family and I have to drive 1hr 5mins (27 mi) to the nearest Costco in Colchester, Vermont, each time we require inexpensive quality goods and groceries in bulk. This journey is not favorable, especially when considering the unnecessary time, fuel, and carbon footprint associated with each trip.

The establishment of a Costco Wholesale in our town would immensely alleviate these challenges. Costco's reputation for providing high-quality products at affordable prices supports middle and low-income families, positively impacting local economies. According to studies by the University of Connecticut, Costco compensates employees significantly better than many competitors, fostering an environment of job security and higher economic productivity (University of Connecticut, 2015).

The establishment of a Costco in Plattsburgh will create local jobs, invite secondary business growth, and provide residents with greater shopping options. It's time for us to remove the additional burden of long-distance trips for affordable shopping. It's time for convenience and progress in Plattsburgh.
