Our softball games in New Castle County, DE are more than just sports events. They are family gatherings, bustling with the cheer of children and adults alike, eagerly awaiting their turns at the concession stands. It's a bustling hub for families rushing from work who rely on the concession stand's offerings for dinner, snacks, and drinks. However, to our dismay and the community's loss, we do not currently have a concession stand at our fields.

I have personally witnessed my nieces and nephew eagerly awaiting their visits to the games, not just for their passion for softball, but also to visit Ms. Maria at the concession stand. Her cheerful demeanor and the vibrant atmosphere around the stand cultivate a sense of community, turning our games into enjoyable family outings.

Lack of such facilities deprives our community of much-appreciated conveniences and the simple joys of shared snacks and laughter. It also leaves a significant gap in our recreational infrastructure. According to the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), concession stands at recreation sites can create revenues that contribute to the financial sustainability of the parks (source: NRPA).
