As members of our church community with strong ties to our Greek heritage, we are prompted to take actions that keep our faith intact and unaffected by the ever-changing world around us. We have experienced firsthand the political spectrum widening, pulling people towards different ends, and rendering the central values of our faith an afterthought in the societal discourse. It's time to create a sacred space where our children can thrive both educationally and spiritually. We are seeking to establish a Christian-based school in our church, one that aligns with our unique beliefs and customs that differ from mainstream Christian or Catholic schools.

Public schools are providing fewer opportunities for Christian learning, and while Catholic schools do offer a religious education, our beliefs do not align completely. Building a Christian school within our church's premises will allow us to impart the values we hold close to our hearts, in a place already deemed sacred, where we learn about Jesus.

Next to the United States, Greece has the second-largest percentage of Orthodox Christians in the world (Pew Research Center, 2017) and our community believes in preserving this strong link to our roots. It's high time we foster an environment designed to help keep our faith alive and well in the anticipating minds of our children, and what better way to do this than implementing a school within our church?
