With the proposed closure of Lloyd's Bank in Kenilworth next February, our town will be left without a suitable banking facility, facilities that were manned by helpful and knowledgeable individuals. This has put our senior citizens in a difficult position, as many of them still prefer face-to-face banking methods to online platforms for their financial transactions and queries. The importance of maintaining our community's access to banking personnel cannot be understated. A study by Age UK shows that 49% of adults over 75 are not online, hence making personal banking services vital (Age UK, 2018). We propose the creation of a Banking Hub on Warwick Road, making use of one of the vacant properties that previously housed banks. Establishing a Banking Hub will not only cater to the needs of our current residents, but it will also contribute to the economic growth and social fabric of Kenilworth.
