My dog tragically died after choking on a bone because there were no emergency pet hospitals available in Morgan Hill. We were left with no other option but to make a frantic 20-minute drive to the nearest hospital in San Jose. Sadly, by then, it was too late.

Morgan Hill is home to over 44,000 residents, many of whom are pet owners. These residents need and deserve a local emergency facility that can react promptly to urgent medical conditions, thereby increasing the odds of survival for their pets substantially. Currently, none exists; an alarming gap considering approximately 67% of U.S households (85 million families) own a pet (American Pet Products Association, 2019-20).

The traumatic experience of losing a pet due to a lack of emergency services is not something any owner should endure. Establishing a 24-hour pet emergency hospital in Morgan Hill would be a significant step towards addressing this issue, providing a much-needed service for the community and potentially saving the lives of countless beloved pets.
