Documents for Boxted bridge planning application now available for public view

The documents for the planning application for Boxted bridge have now been made available for the public to view on the Essex County Council planning website under reference CC/COL/106/21 The direct link to the planning application is here:
https://planning.essex.gov.uk/planningapplication.aspx?AppNo=CC/COL/106/21
The formal consultation period will begin on 7th January 2022 and will be open until 28 January 2022.
SOB will shortly be providing a suggested list of reasons for objection.
As the bridge straddles both counties an identical planning application has been submitted to Suffolk County Council SCC/103/1B however this link is not working yet.
SOB continues to fight Essex Highways' proposal to demolish listed Boxted bridge and replace it with a much wider bridge suitable for HGVs and for an alternative solution to be found. The proposal is unnecessary, a waste of tax payers money and totally inappropriate in the heart of the Dedham Vale AONB!
The purpose of an AONB is to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area and Highways and the Local Authority have a Duty of Regard to pay attention to this in any development. Essex Highways have recognised that ECC planning have concerns that widening the bridge has the potential to urbanise a section of the AONB.
